We’re getting to the point in the political cycle where people are starting to hedge their bets. That’s because the first primaries are looming in the cycle, and at least on the Republican side, Trump has opened up a big lead for the nomination. Biden has low poll numbers and concerns about his age, but the former president seems to be winning with a platform of being bat-shit crazy. However, as the winnowing process focuses the media coverage, Nikki Haley is making real inroads. Or is she? If we believe in the counter-intuitive Trump bulge, then does that mean the Haley numbers are equally real?
In two or three short weeks, we’ll know the answer or at least important parts of it. DeSantis has a lot to lose here, and Trump almost nothing. This is good news for Biden voters, who underperform until the last chance to grapple with Trump before the general election.
